MSH Services and My Sweet Retreat are run by Matthew, Linda and Annaliese Howard. They are all passionate about what they do and have various skill sets to assist each other to making the business a success. Linda has a great eye for detail and is brilliant at making celebration cakes, Matthew is great with flavours and enjoys making jams and ice creams, he also keeps the business account and keeps us legal with `paperwork`, and Annaliese also enjoys making cakes and experimenting with new methods and styles, she is also handy to know when you have a party that needs arranging.
Annaliese enjoys baking all kinds of cakes and trying new recipes. She often helps out at My Sweet Retreat, helping decorate and giving the cakes a theme. She has a creative eye for making things look pretty. Annaliese recently completed an Events Management Diploma and she wishes to use this qualification to become a professional wedding and event planner. By completing this course she has found some lovely ideas for any special occasion such as weddings, birthdays, baby showers etc. This, combined with the services provided by My Sweet Retreat is why we are the perfect choice for your special occasion.
Matthew’s career has been in catering, varying from bar, waiting on, hotel work, cooking and kitchen and bar management. His career started at a young age working in cafes and hotels cooking for and serving customers, his career and interest for the industry grew from here leading him to gain GCSE’s and NVQ’s in Catering.
Matthew now runs the business and works full time in order to assist its long-term development. He spends his spare time making cakes, ice creams and jams for MSH Services and My Sweet Retreat.
Linda’s career has been mainly in catering which has allowed her to develop her interest in baking. As her children were growing up she was baking and usually with one or both of them helping her. Birthdays always required a cake and she made various ones including a dinosaur cake (twice), Eeyore, a pizza cake and many others.
What was once her interest has developed into her career, and she now bakes selections of tray-bakes, gateaux and celebration cakes for MSH Services, and My Sweet Retreat.
